On Sunday we heard the story of the two disciples who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus. They did not recognize the resurrected Jesus until he broke the bread when they sat down to eat together (as shown in Rembrandt's painting).
In her talk, Parisa reminded us of the importance of acknowledging Jesus and what he has done for us. She urged us to follow the example of the two disciples by sharing the good news. Those who have faith, she told us, have to either "give it up" or "give it away" - share it with those around us.
In this spirit, our Bible study and prayer meetings continue on Wednesdays at 6pm in church.
On Sunday 14th May we will share lunch together after our service. Please bring what you can!
Sunday 23 April is St. George's Day, where we to remember the life of George, patron saint of our church and of England. George was a brave young man who died because he refused to give up his faith in Christianity. He lived and died more than 1700 years ago, but we come together in all our diversity to remember his life and example.
See you on Sunday!
