On Sunday we had a wonderful celebration of Pentecost, remembering when the early Christians were touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that brings us to real life and help us be God's lights in a difficult world. In the face of appalling terrorist attacks in this country and around the world, Rev. Nejib reminded us that by the power of the Holy Spirit we can move beyond our anger and use love to triumph over evil.
To celebrate this, we released red helium balloons over our community of Newtown, attaching snippets of God's Word for those who may find them.
Do join us for more prayer, fellowship and study at 6pm on Wednesday.
On Sunday we heard the wonderful passage from John's Gospel where Jesus promises that he will leave us his Holy Spirit to help and guide us. This is the "Spirit of Truth", unknown by the world but present in the hearts of those who commit themselves to Christ. Parisa preached on the comfort we receive from the Holy Spirit and the importance of the Trinity in our faith.
Let's remember to let the Holy Spirit comfort and guide us this week!
